Slicker Recycling Limited, a hazardous waste management company in the UK has announced the acquisition of AVISTA Oil Services (UK) Ltd (“AVOS”).

Slicker Recycling is one of the UK’s largest collector and processor of used waste lubricating oil and provides total waste management solutions to its extensive customer base.

AVOS, previously owned by AVISTA OIL AG, operates a national oil collection business from its West Midlands treatment centre. This strategic acquisition will bring additional infrastructure, expertise and resources to provide an even better customer experience from the organisation. Slicker Recycling will invest in the business to grow and expand operations over the coming years.

The business is committed to maintaining existing supplies of used waste lubricating oil to AVISTA in a genuinely win-win partnership for both parties. Slicker and AVISTA recognised the market needs for a strategic consolidation and are jointly looking into the future to expand their common interests on a bigger scale. This will include a non-exclusive supply from the UK market.

Mark Olpin MD of Slicker Recycling said, “This acquisition adds to our UK storage capacity, geographic presence and collection options to recycle and manage waste oil, plus a wider customer base that we can introduce our additional services to. We are extremely excited with the opportunities this provides by combining our assets, knowledge and expertise”.

AVISTA OIL AG’s CEO, Marc Verfürth, said: “This deal secures and sustains our existing UK feedstock volumes consistent with our vertical integration strategy, while partnering with Slicker Recycling who are well placed to ensure the continued success of the AVISTA OIL business. We look forward to exploring further opportunities with Slicker to expand our respective market leading positions.”
