Charles Trent help raise up to £16k for Poole Hospice

charles trnetAs the old saying goes, “teamwork makes the dream work” and this was certainly the case as we joined forces with Elite Fabrication & Welding and their amazing fundraising efforts. Together we helped raise £16,000 for Poole-based hospice Forest Holme, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

Our good friends Andy and Sue Rice at Elite Fabrication & Welding recently held a ‘15 years in business’ event at their site in Sterte, which raised a fantastic £6,000 on the day.

Forest Holme is a cause very close to the hearts of both the Rice and Trent families which led Charles Trent directors Marc, Neil and Jonathan Trent to match the funds raised on the day. This doubled the total amount to £12,000. Elite added this total to what it had received from silent auction items and various other donations before presenting a cheque to Forest Holme totalling £16,000.

Paul Tucker, Fundraising Manager at Forest Holme said:

“We were absolutely gobsmacked by the amount of money raised and cannot thank both companies enough. Elite have been fantastic supporters of the hospice for many years due to their own personal experiences but to then have such kindness from Trent’s is simply incredible. This donation will help ensure that Forest Holme is there for patients and their family and friends during the most difficult time of their lives.”

Marc Trent, Charles Trent Managing Director added:

“We are immensely proud to have been able to team up with Andy and Sue at Elite and assist with their impressive fundraising efforts. Forest Holme has a special place in the hearts of both the Trent and Rice families. Our combined efforts will go directly toward such a worthy cause that does an incredible job providing support to patients and their families through such difficult times.”
