Copart invests in apprenticeships

Copart’s role in National Apprenticeship Week – 3rd-7th February 2020

Copart invests in apprenticeships

To mark National Apprenticeship Week (3rd – 7th February), leading online vehicle remarketing company, Copart UK, have demonstrated their ongoing commitment to the personal development of their people by investing in over 30 apprenticeships across their business.

After the 2017 Government introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy, Copart took the opportunity to invest into apprenticeship schemes and in 2018 piloted an LGV Apprenticeship. The scheme, which offered employees the chance to gain the recognised qualifications and develop the essential skills to become LGV Drivers has, to date, produced four successful graduates.

Following the success of the LGV Apprenticeship, the online vehicle remarketing company went on to develop further apprenticeships for their employees in Customer Service and Team Leading, producing another six successful graduates by the end of 2019. Two Team Leading Apprenticeship graduates have already been promoted into new supervisory and management roles, as a result of their newly acquired skills and training.

In 2020, Copart is continuing to explore and identify different areas within their business where they could potentially invest in training and development opportunities for employees and have already started the new year with the commencement of ten Customer Service Level 2 Apprenticeships. A Vehicle Damage Assessor Apprenticeship is due to be launched in April, with an anticipated 14 participants.

Jay Honour, Human Resources Manager, said:

“We are continuing to offer apprenticeships at Copart in a wide range of roles to anyone in our business, regardless of their age or their current role. It’s a fantastic personal development opportunity for our people to learn new skills in an area which interests them, gain qualifications and potentially progress within our company.”

e2e Total Loss Vehicle Management [e2e] is the UK’s only salvage and automotive recycling network with nationwide, environmentally compliant sites delivering performance resilience and service reliability to the insurance and fleet markets.  The network’s online salvage auction www.salvagemarket.co.uk drives strong salvage resale values and faster sales.  e2e’s salvage clients have access to the network’s stocks of over 5 million quality graded, warranty assured reclaimed parts.

The power of the network model means e2e has the ability to influence industry standards and is committed to continually raising the bar whilst redefining the role and perceived value of the salvage operator.  Network members adhere to robust service level agreements, against which they are audited, in order to ensure performance consistency and a market leading customer experience.

The salvage and recycling operating environment is evolving rapidly, and e2e is anticipating, listening and responding to changing market needs.  Regulatory compliance, ESG, reclaimed parts, customer experience, EVs, new vehicle technologies, data and reputation risk are just some of many considerations linked to the procurement of salvage services.  e2e will drive further added value to clients and members through the adoption and application of emerging technologies, continuing to differentiate its proposition and position salvage services as a professional partnership.
