Cawleys, one of the UK’s leading independently owned waste and resource recycling companies appoints Nigel Ingram as new Operations Director

Despite the current impact lockdown is having on countless businesses across the region, Cawleys are extremely confident that they can bounce back and grow business volumes substantially as soon as the current pandemic restrictions are behind us. As such, the business is continuously looking to expand and evolve its offering and is delighted to announce the appointment of Nigel Ingram as its new Operations Director.

Ingram, who joined the business in May, is responsible for developing and driving Cawleys’ strategy to deliver tangible results within the waste processing and commodities division.

His appointment is driven in part by the news that Tony Goodman, Cawleys’ Director of Sales and Resource Management, will be taking retirement at the end of the year. Tony Goodman has been an invaluable member of the senior team at Cawleys for over 30 years and will be greatly missed. Ingram’s appointment, several months prior to Goodman’s departure, will allow the two to work together to ensure knowledge share and a smooth transition for the business.

Commenting on the appointment Phil Gudgeon, Managing Director, said:

“Although it will be some months before Tony leaves the business, his departure will be felt widely across the organisation. Tony has been integral to the success of our organisation and his knowledge, expertise and experience will be missed. We hope that bringing Nigel on board will ensure a smooth handover before Tony’s journey into retirement.

Having worked in the waste sector for more than 20 years, Nigel brings a wealth of experience to our business. He has held senior roles at both Suez and Veolia and has demonstrated high standards of performance and achievement in all his previous roles.  We are greatly looking forward to welcoming him to the team and the positive impact we are sure he will have on our operation.”
