Copart Supports Ben Automotive Charity Christmas Appeal

As part of Copart Cares CSR commitment to caring about communities and good causes, the company is proud to join other key members of the automotive industry in supporting Ben Automotive Charity’s Christmas Appeal.

Copart has been a proud advocate of Ben for many years, having adopted them as its company charity in 2015. Copart said it is ‘very fortunate to have access to Ben’s wide range of health and wellbeing support services, so always keen to give something back.

With many of Ben’s fundraising events having been cancelled this year, they have asked businesses to pledge their support with a Christmas Appeal that aims to raise £500,000. Funds raised through the appeal will help Ben to support the growing number of people calling on its services this year.

Ben’s range of support services to the automotive community – including managing mental health issues and financial worries – are more important now than ever.

Christmas can be a stressful time, and anxiety, loneliness, and money problems will come to the forefront for many, coupled with the ongoing challenges of the pandemic. Ben has reported a significant increase in the number of calls for support over the past few months.

Copart is determined to continue its support and are proud to have joined other key members of the automotive industry in answering Ben’s rallying cry for help.

Copart has pledged its support with a Christmas donation, which will help enable Ben to continue providing their vital mental health, physical health, and wellbeing services.

Owain joined Volvo Cars in June 2021 to lead Circular Economy in the Global Sustainability Team. The company has committed to being a circular business by 2040 and has financial, recycled content and CO2 based targets for 2025, all of which Owain is working across the company to make happen. Owain previously worked for circular economy consultancy Oakdene Hollins where he advised businesses on evidence led circular economy implementation.

The presentation will cover the work Volvo Cars is doing to achieve 2025 but mainly focus on the transformational work towards 2040 and the business and value chain changes being considered. Attention will be paid to the way vehicles are being dealt with at the end of life and the complexities of closing material and component loops. Opportunities and challenges which Volvo Cars is facing will be presented including engagement with 3rd parties and increasing pressure from stakeholders.
