Following Copart’s recent acquisition of Hills Salvage & Recycling – The Green Parts Specialists, the company’s total owned UK-wide logistics fleet now stands at circa. 500.

Copart has 250+ directly employed drivers collecting vehicles from policy holders’ homes and body shops, giving the company complete control over all the resources and services it offers.

Copart can tailor its collections to provide the most fuel-efficient option and access challenging locations with transporters of all different shapes and sizes, from a single car to seven cars.

Copart’s Transportation Control Centre plays a vital role, ensuring that the operational capabilities of its UK-wide transport fleet are fully maximised when arranging vehicle collections.

Using the latest route scheduling technology alongside real-time road data, and communicating constantly with its drivers, the team acts as an ‘eye in the sky’ to understand obstacles and map out the most efficient and intelligent routes.

In line with Copart’s Plan-Net-Zero sustainability commitment, its fleet is Euro VI and DVS (Direct Vision Standard) compliant. All transporters are fully fitted with the latest connected telematics and vision standards camera systems, to ensure optimal efficiency and lower fuel emissions.

Comprehensive driver behaviour telematics data means that the company has the ability to monitor driver behaviour and driving styles and where necessary provide further training to make improvements to driving efficiency and fuel consumption.

All of this, alongside Copart’s ability to make centrally controlled decisions, means the company is in a strong position to manage the peaks in demand which inevitably occur as we head into winter and experience extreme weather events.

Copart is extremely proud of the key role its Transportation Control Centre plays in driving the business forward, enabling it to collect and handle vehicles quickly, efficiently, and with minimal environmental impact.
