An award was won, and money was raised for charity. There was plenty to be celebrated by agricultural and commercial vehicle salvage specialists, Adam Hewitt Ltd, at the beginning of this month.

Two major events occurred in the first week of November. On Friday the 4th, the inaugural Vehicle Recycling Excellence Awards, in association with ATF Professional, took place at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham. Adam Hewitt and some of his team headed to the venue to enjoy the ceremony, along with several companies in the sector competing to win the much-coveted trophies from the various award categories. But it was Adam Hewitt Ltd which won the ‘Salvage Company of the Year’ Award, and to collect the trophy was Adam’s son, Jack Hewitt.

Adam said: “This is a very prestigious award, as we were up against all the multinational PLC companies in our industry.”

Adam Hewitt Ltd hosted its annual Charity Bonfire on the 5th of November; the event happens every year to raise money for charity, and this year, the charity was Cure Leukaemia.

For the memorabilia auction, which took place after the spectacular fireworks display, local companies and people donated some great prizes, including signed, framed football and rugby shirts, signed rugby balls, and a VIP tour around the Bentley factory.

The event raised a fantastic £22,000 through donations, raffle ticket sales, and the memorabilia auction itself, bringing the total to £32,000, including the £10,000 raised from the company’s charity auction held last month.

Adam said of the Charity Bonfire event:

“All our staff and friends volunteered their time to put this event on, and I would like to thank them all for all their hard work.”
