Speakers include Mark Pickles, Parts and Service Director from Stellantis, who will provide a spotlight on the role manufacturers play in sustainable vehicle production, focusing on its B-Parts platform, a leading platform for used auto parts distribution.

Adam Murray, Chair of the ABI Code of Practice, will explore the evolving landscape of recycled parts in modern vehicles and gain a deeper understanding of industry standards with David Punter, President of the IAEA, as he unpacks the latest revisions in the code of practice. Also, discover the economic advantages of electric vehicle recycling with Elena Wrelton and Lee-Jane Eastwood from ELVES (Ireland) and tap into customer insights with Wayne Mason from the NBRA.

Coming over from the USA to explore sales management strategies, Mike Kunkel, recipient of the 2023 Automotive Recyclers Association President’s Award, will share effective techniques to boost sales performance. Also speaking on the day, Christopher Clark will challenge conventional safety approaches, emphasising human behaviour in yard safety management. Plus, stay motivated with Mike Monaghan from Auto-Motivate, who will provide tips for maintaining a positive outlook as the industry adjusts for the future in this fast and developing world.

Owain joined Volvo Cars in June 2021 to lead Circular Economy in the Global Sustainability Team. The company has committed to being a circular business by 2040 and has financial, recycled content and CO2 based targets for 2025, all of which Owain is working across the company to make happen. Owain previously worked for circular economy consultancy Oakdene Hollins where he advised businesses on evidence led circular economy implementation.

The presentation will cover the work Volvo Cars is doing to achieve 2025 but mainly focus on the transformational work towards 2040 and the business and value chain changes being considered. Attention will be paid to the way vehicles are being dealt with at the end of life and the complexities of closing material and component loops. Opportunities and challenges which Volvo Cars is facing will be presented including engagement with 3rd parties and increasing pressure from stakeholders.
