I’ve always enjoyed visiting warehouses and observing production lines in action. It’s a great way to see how things are done and to see the innovative approaches businesses take when recycling or repairing vehicles. We’re developing a platform to help suppliers and buyers source and supply spare parts, and I want to take a hands-on approach to introduce it. I believe we can showcase this in a more engaging way than the typical web-based demos, especially since COVID has pushed many interactions online.

This summer, I’ll be hitting the road with just my backpack and camera, dedicating two weeks to visiting two to three sites per day. I’ll be touring UK recyclers and body shops, showcasing our latest solution to current suppliers and buyers while also demonstrating it to potential new users. My goal is to tour their operations, understand their pain points, gather feedback, and highlight the sustainable practices within the industry.

As a committee member of the Vehicle Recyclers’ Association (VRA), I’ll also use this opportunity to listen to recyclers about the industry’s current state. I’ll be documenting these visits to create a short film that promotes sustainable businesses in the UK and sheds light on the recycling operations and those who choose to use sustainable spare parts in their repair process.

I plan to travel on a budget, staying in hostels and possibly hitching rides with parts delivery vehicles. Any support along the way would be greatly appreciated. e2e Total Loss Vehicle Management [e2e] is the UK’s only salvage and automotive recycling network with nationwide, environmentally compliant sites delivering performance resilience and service reliability to the insurance and fleet markets.  The network’s online salvage auction www.salvagemarket.co.uk drives strong salvage resale values and faster sales.  e2e’s salvage clients have access to the network’s stocks of over 5 million quality graded, warranty assured reclaimed parts.

The power of the network model means e2e has the ability to influence industry standards and is committed to continually raising the bar whilst redefining the role and perceived value of the salvage operator.  Network members adhere to robust service level agreements, against which they are audited, in order to ensure performance consistency and a market leading customer experience.

The salvage and recycling operating environment is evolving rapidly, and e2e is anticipating, listening and responding to changing market needs.  Regulatory compliance, ESG, reclaimed parts, customer experience, EVs, new vehicle technologies, data and reputation risk are just some of many considerations linked to the procurement of salvage services.  e2e will drive further added value to clients and members through the adoption and application of emerging technologies, continuing to differentiate its proposition and position salvage services as a professional partnership.
