BMRA launches new training portal – BMRA Academy

The British Metals Recycling Association has launched a new training portal for its members, BMRA Academy.

BMRA launches new training portal – BMRA Academy p

Provided by service members of the Association, where possible at a special rate to fellow members, all training courses are assessed and validated by the BMRA Education and Training Committee and have appropriate accreditation.

 Phase one comprises:

  • Technical competence training.
  • Plant and equipment training.
  • Electric vehicle depollution training.

The Academy also serves as the home for all information related to the Metal Recycling General Operative, the industry’s only level 2, sector-specific apprenticeship, an excellent cost-effective option for hiring and training new employees as well as current staff.

Antonia Grey, Head of Policy and Public Affairs and the Association’s training lead, said:

“I am proud to see the BMRA Academy go live. While this is only the beginning, I am pleased we can offer members access to fit-for-purpose, high-quality training that is devised for the metals recycling industry.

Given the current crisis in staff recruitment and retention, offering training to help employee development and progression is a great way to both attract and retain employees. Safer work environments stem from proper, accredited training, which is critical when working in dynamic environments such as metals recycling yards.”

The BMRA would like to thank its Education and Training Committee for all its hard work on this, as well as the following phase one training partners: Total Construction Training, Mayer Environmental and Elevate.

If you are a training provider and a member of the BMRA, and you are interested in being listed on the BMRA Academy Portal, please contact Antonia: at antonia@recyclemetals.org

Turning into a circular business and the importance of vehicle reuse and recycling.

The presentation will cover the work Volvo Cars is doing to achieve 2025 but mainly focus on the transformational work towards 2040 and the business and value chain changes being considered.
