The average scrap car price in December 2024 stood at £229, marking the lowest level seen throughout the year. This represents a 2% decrease from November’s average, capping off a challenging year for scrap car values.

December Highlights: Ford Focus Tops the Charts
For yet another month, the Ford Focus was the most commonly scrapped car through CarTakeBack. Averaging a scrap value of £248, it surpassed the general average scrap car price by 8%. While December saw a 2% dip in the Focus’s scrap value compared to November, it remains a strong performer.
Top 5 Scrapped Cars and Price Movements

The Vauxhall Astra was the only car in the top five to see a price increase, with a notable 7% boost. Other popular models, such as the Ford Fiesta, experienced significant declines, with Fiesta scrap values dropping by 16%.
