SYNETIQ appoints Jonathan Pervin as Managing Director

SYNETIQ, an IAA company and one of the UK’s leading vehicle salvage, dismantling and recycling companies, today announced it has appointed Jonathan Pervin as Managing Director.

In his new role, Jonathan will work closely with RB Global’s Chief Business Development Officer, Karl Werner, to lead SYNETIQ’s UK salvage and dismantling business. Jonathan will continue to help drive innovation and growth as part of IAA, an RB Global company and a trusted worldwide marketplace for insights, services, and transaction solutions for commercial assets and vehicles.

Previously serving as Finance Director at SYNETIQ, Jonathan has been a driving force behind the company’s journey and has contributed significantly to its growth and development since joining in 2020. With extensive experience in senior financial roles, Jonathan has played a key role in overseeing SYNETIQ’s financial governance and reporting, supporting the company’s growth through strategic investment, acquisitions, and business development. His efforts were nationally recognised when he was shortlisted for the Yorkshire Finance Leaders Awards, underscoring his remarkable contributions to the finance sector.

Head of Circular Economy at Volvo Cars

Owain joined Volvo Cars in June 2021 to lead Circular Economy in the Global Sustainability Team. The company has committed to being a circular business by 2040 and has financial, recycled content and CO2 based targets for 2025, all of which Owain is working across the company to make happen. Owain previously worked for circular economy consultancy Oakdene Hollins where he advised businesses on evidence led circular economy implementation.

The presentation will cover the work Volvo Cars is doing to achieve 2025 but mainly focus on the transformational work towards 2040 and the business and value chain changes being considered. Attention will be paid to the way vehicles are being dealt with at the end of life and the complexities of closing material and component loops. Opportunities and challenges which Volvo Cars is facing will be presented including engagement with 3rd parties and increasing pressure from stakeholders.
