Andy Latham, founder of Salvage Wire, has been named Acting Chairman of the Vehicle Recyclers Association (VRA), succeeding Ray Kirk’s impactful tenure.

The new appointment follows the successful chairmanship of Ray Kirk, under whose leadership the Association delivered several key changes.
A proud and long-standing member of the vehicle recycling sector, Andy expressed gratitude and humility upon taking on the new position. “It’s a great honour to be given this opportunity to serve in the industry’s representative association,” he said. “I was delighted by the strong support from the VRA Committee for my appointment, and I hope I can deliver on that confidence.”
Looking ahead, Andy outlined an ambition not only to consolidate recent progress but to build on it, delivering more value for members and advancing the Association’s mission. “I want to take time to consider the options now open to the VRA and work closely with Chas and the committee to determine how we approach the important upcoming elections of officers, including a permanent Chairman,” he added.
At the core of the new Chair’s vision is a commitment to clear goals and strong collaboration. “I already know that delivering more for members, through the combined efforts of the committee and a shared strategic focus, will be key to our success.”
This new chapter promises a continued focus on progress, professionalism, and strengthening the voice of vehicle recyclers across the UK.
