The British Vehicle Salvage Federation (BVSF) welcomes back a familiar face to its leadership, as Roger West returns to the role of Secretary General.

Roger, who initially retired from the position in 2023 due to ill health, has decided to step back into the post following the recent departure of Graham West, now with improved health. His return marks a new chapter for the Federation and for the wider UK vehicle salvage and recycling community, which has long benefitted from his steady hand and deep industry insight.
With over five decades of experience in the motor industry, Roger first took up the role of General Secretary in 2010, serving for nearly thirteen years and helping to guide the BVSF through a period of significant change and growth. During his previous tenure, he was known for his open communication with members, his collaborative approach with regulators, and his tireless advocacy for professional standards within the salvage sector.
Roger’s leadership has been widely recognised across the industry, with ATF Professional previously highlighting his dedication and forward-thinking views in articles such as Roger West’s reflection on 12 years of dedication at BVSF and BVSF: Always present and future thinking.
The BVSF continues to represent the interests of its members nationwide, promoting best practice, compliance, and cooperation across the UK’s vehicle salvage community.
Roger’s return is sure to be warmly received by members and industry colleagues alike; a welcome sign of stability and continuity as the Federation continues to address new challenges and seize opportunities in the vehicle recycling industry.
