Global Ardour Recycling Ltd has announced a significant expansion of its operational footprint with the acquisition of Adelphi Limited, based at Newport Dock. The move marks the latest stage in the company’s continued growth following its 2024 takeover of Recycling Lives and signals renewed confidence in the UK metals recycling and ELV processing sector.
The Newport site provides direct access to deep-sea shipping lanes, enabling the loading of 36,000-tonne-capacity vessels for large-scale exports. This new route to market is set to complement the company’s established domestic capabilities, offering more commercial choice for suppliers and automotive recyclers across the UK. Operations have already begun, with the site’s commercial and logistics development being led by newly appointed Director Marc Robertson, alongside Gareth Price, Philip Price and Craig Saunders.
According to the business, the strategic acquisition unlocks growth through scale, flexibility and increased resilience. For customers, this means more competitive outlets for end-of-life vehicles and scrap metals, without the constraint of a single regional market.
“We have the volume, and now we have the ability to move that volume more efficiently than ever before,” said Graeme Slater, Operations Director at Global Ardour Recycling Ltd. “The addition of Newport is a clear demonstration that we are serious about growth and long-term investment. It gives us wider export options, opens up new opportunities for collaboration with other companies, and shows the market that we are here to expand and innovate.”
The acquisition also enhances Global Ardour’s nationwide collection network and supports its ambition to become a trusted partner for automotive dismantlers seeking secure, reliable and future-proofed outlets. Graeme emphasised that the business is committed to building strong relationships and ensuring confidence in its service as the industry continues to evolve.
Sanjay Singhal – Managing Director, is also very optimistic about the future:
“This isn’t the end, it’s another step in a much bigger journey. We’re focused on new ventures, new technologies and increasing capacity for our suppliers. We want people to pick up the phone, talk to us, and see the opportunities ahead.”
Global Ardour says further growth initiatives are already in the pipeline, reinforcing its intention to remain a major force within UK metal recycling and ELV processing for years to come.
