Charles Trent has appointed Linu Chackos as CTO to accelerate its use of data, automation and digital platforms across vehicle recycling operations. The move signals how technology is becoming central to modern ATF performance, helping recyclers improve procurement, parts recovery, inventory control and customer access to reused parts.

Charles Trent Limited has announced the appointment of Linu Chackos as its Chief Technical Officer (CTO), marking an important step in the company’s continued investment in technology, data and innovation across its operations.
Linu joined Charles Trent Limited in July 2023 as Head of Innovation and Technology, bringing a background in data analytics, automation and operational systems within the automotive sector. His promotion to Chief Technical Officer reflects the growing role that technology now plays in the company’s operations and its long-term strategy as the business continues to modernise the vehicle recycling industry.
Since joining Charles Trent, Linu has led the development of several internal technology platforms that support the business across procurement, dismantling, inventory management, and customer-facing systems. These include internally developed tools such as Bid Master and Inventory Master, which analyse salvage vehicles and estimate the potential value of recoverable parts. By using data to identify high-demand components and optimise purchasing decisions, these systems help the company maximise the value recovered from each vehicle.
Linu has also played a key role in strengthening Trent’s digital infrastructure, including rebuilding the company’s website platform with live inventory search functionality, launching a B2B marketplace for trade customers and introducing AI-driven customer support tools designed to assist customers with common queries in real time. Together, these developments represent a significant step toward a more connected, data-driven operation.
The Chief Technical Officer role reflects the increasing importance of technology across the vehicle recycling sector, where data, automation, and digital platforms are becoming essential to improving operational efficiency and the customer experience.
Linu Chackos, Chief Technical Officer at Charles Trent Limited, said:
“I’m incredibly proud to take on the role of Chief Technical Officer at Charles Trent. Over the past few years, we’ve built a strong foundation of data, automation and digital systems, and I’m excited to continue developing technology that supports the next stage of the company’s growth.”
As the vehicle recycling industry evolves, the ability to analyse data, automate processes and connect customers with recycled parts through digital platforms is becoming increasingly important. Technology now plays a central role across the entire lifecycle of a vehicle within Trent’s operations, from procurement decisions and dismantling workflows through to inventory management and online sales.
Looking ahead, Linu will focus on further expanding Trent’s technology infrastructure, strengthening data-driven decision making and developing systems that help teams across the business work more efficiently.
He added:
“Technology is helping transform a traditionally manual industry into a more data-driven and efficient operation. By combining Trent’s decades of experience with modern digital systems, we can recover more reusable parts and deliver an even better experience for our customers.”
Over the coming years, the company plans to continue building a more connected digital ecosystem across the organisation, with expanded automation, improved analytics capabilities and further development of customer platforms that provide easier access to Trent’s inventory.
The increasing complexity of modern vehicles, including the growth of electric vehicles and advanced electronics, is also expected to influence the company’s technology strategy as the industry adapts to new challenges and opportunities.
Reflecting on the future of the business, Linu said:
“What excites me most is the opportunity to continue innovating within an industry that plays such an important role in the circular economy. Trents has always been forward-thinking, and I’m excited to help build the next generation of technology that will support the company’s future.”
The appointment comes as Charles Trent Limited continues to invest heavily in its infrastructure, digital platforms and operational capabilities as it approaches its centenary year in 2026. The creation of the CTO role reflects the company’s commitment to building a more intelligent, efficient and sustainable vehicle recycling operation for the future.
