Copart UK is strengthening its sustainable supply chain by working with long-standing suppliers, such as Belle Trailers, to reduce Scope 3 emissions, improve emissions data quality, and support circular economy practices. The partnership includes tree planting, biodiversity protection, component refurbishment, and verified carbon reporting to help advance Copart’s Plan-Net-Zero commitments.

Global leader in vehicle remarketing and recycling, Copart UK, is actively engaging long-standing suppliers to reduce Scope 3 emissions and deliver positive environmental outcomes across its supply chain.
Scope 3 emissions represent a significant proportion of Copart’s overall carbon footprint, therefore close collaboration with suppliers like Belle Car Transporters and Specialised Trailers Ltd., is a critical component for credible delivery of their Plan-Net-Zero.
Copart said that working directly with supply chain partners supports improved emissions data quality, more effective reduction strategies, and environmental impact beyond their own operations.
In a recent visit to Belle Trailers, a trusted long-standing supplier to Copart, the two companies reviewed their progress across sustainability, biodiversity, and circular economy initiatives.
Belle Trailers showcased a range of industry-leading environmental initiatives, including a biodiversity programme that has delivered the planting of approximately 6,500 trees, alongside long-term measures to protect woodland areas and local wildlife habitats.
Belle Trailers is also advancing circular economy principles within its operations by securing planning permission for a new refurbishment workshop at its Wethersfield site.
The new facility will refurbish hydraulic cylinders returned from across the transporter industry, preventing valuable steel components from being scrapped and significantly reducing waste, raw material demand, and greenhouse gas emissions.
In addition, Belle Trailers have committed to plant four trees for every vehicle they have built for Copart over several decades, which to date is over 600.
Jamie Walker, Sustainability Manager at Copart UK, said:
“Our collaboration with Belle Trailers highlights how long-term supplier partnerships can play a critical role in reducing supply chain emissions, strengthening operational resilience, enhancing ESG reporting, and delivering environmentally positive outcomes.
At Copart, we remain committed to working closely with our suppliers to accelerate shared progress on sustainability, emissions reduction, and responsible resource management across our value chain.”
Jasmine Barnard, Sustainability Manager at Belle Trailers, added:
“Belle Trailers are really pleased to be part of the long-term Copart sustainability programme, investing in new woodland projects, environmental schemes, and recycling components; with both companies actively working towards net-zero.”
Copart UK also recently successfully completed independent third-party verification of their greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with ISO 14064-3, covering Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
