ELEVATE has strengthened its UK EV battery handling and recycling offer by appointing George Rumble as Business Development Lead. His circular economy and EPR experience will support ATFs with onsite IMI-accredited EV training, consultancy and battery collection services, helping recyclers improve safety, compliance and efficiency as end-of-life EV volumes grow.

ELEVATE, the UK’s only IMI Accredited EV Training Specialist, leading EV Consultancy and Battery Collection Service, has boosted its UK expansion with the appointment of George Rumble.
Bringing to this role a wealth of experience from the automotive industry and circular economy, George’s appointment underlines ELEVATE’s commitment to enhancing its environmental credentials, while driving growth in this rapidly developing area of the car recycling industry.
George most recently worked for Honda Motor Europe as its Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) & Circularity Lead, supporting Honda’s European network with end-of-life product management. Prior to joining Honda in January 2021, George was a Business Development Manager for a sustainable packaging company.
With over 10 years of experience in sustainability and circular economy, George not only brings a depth of knowledge but also a fresh perspective to this new role within EV battery handling and recycling. Now qualified by IMI in Hybrid & Electric Vehicles, George will be delivering onsite training at ATFs to enable them to process end of life EVs. Being able to balance international strategy with hands-on delivery means George can directly impact the success of individual businesses as well as sustainability within the wider industry.
ELEVATE MD Ken Byng commented:
“We are delighted to welcome George to ELEVATE at this critical moment for end of life EV and battery management. His extensive experience, earnest enthusiasm for sustainability and natural skill for building strong customer relationships will enable him to play a pivotal role in driving the next phase of our company’s ambitious growth strategy. It’s exciting to have George on board as we continue to expand our training and consultancy operation and EV battery collection service in the UK and beyond.
George will be based primarily in Bristol, but will be travelling the whole of the UK to deliver specialist EV training and consultancy.
Speaking about his appointment, George Rumble said:
“I am excited to join ELEVATE at such a crucial time for the industry and to potentially have such a huge impact on ATF businesses, which will see immediate improvements in efficiency and safety from the training and consultancy we’ll deliver.
ELEVATE is a powerful combination of innovative but practical solutions supported by a highly-experienced, respected team. The MD, Ken Byng, is widely known for his expertise, but also his friendly and open approach. ELEVATE is forging new paths in an industry while offering a genuinely supportive environment. Being offered the chance to help drive the expansion of this exciting organisation and test my skill set within an area I feel so passionate about was an opportunity too good to miss.”
George’s appointment follows a busy start to 2026, with some significant milestones for ELEVATE, including completed training for some of the UK’s most progressive vehicle manufacturers and consultancy for a regional government in the pipeline.
Other recent highlights for ELEVATE include:
- ELEVATE’s early partnering with VRA to give members access to battery collections
