Monteith has appointed Scott McLaws as Director as the insurance advisory firm expands its specialist support for UK vehicle dismantlers. His appointment strengthens Monteith’s senior-led approach, including access to an exclusive QBE motor trade facility, tailored stock cover, enhanced road risk protection and practical risk management advice for qualifying dismantling businesses.

Scott joins the firm from previous brokerage James Hallam and will work alongside Managing Director Scott McLuskey as Monteith continues to grow at pace. Monteith reflects a shared commitment to professionalism, high-quality advice and long-term value for insurance buyers.
Founded to challenge traditional market models, Monteith operates as a senior-led advisory firm focused on raising standards of service and advice to vehicle dismantlers. They are here to advise, not sell.
The business has secured a number of highly reputable vehicle dismantlers within its scheme within the first few months of Scott’s appointment. Montieth currently insures a number of large vehicle dismantlers in the UK, as well as a number of SME vehicle dismantlers that meet its scheme requirements.
Monteith, through Scott McLaws, has exclusive access to a motor trade facility with QBE Insurance (Europe) Ltd. It is the only broker in the United Kingdom with access to this facility, allowing it to provide a competitive alternative that no other insurance broker can offer.
With extensive knowledge of the dismantling industry, Monteith can provide risk management advice to help your business access this scheme, aligned with the risk control measures required by its insurer partners in this industry.
Monleith has tailored the scheme specifically for vehicle dismantlers to provide accurate stock values for parts and vehicles on the premises, ensuring fair settlement in the event of a loss. In addition are able to provide enhanced road risk cover, especially for the needs of a vehicle dismantler transporting and collecting damaged vehicles.
Enhanced cover is also given as standard under machinery and plant to ensure these items are replaced with new for old in the event of a loss.
Scott McLaws said:
“I’m delighted to be joining Scott at Monteith. We’ve worked together previously, and when the opportunity arose to become partners in this business, I had no hesitation; it felt like the right home for my clients. We share a strong set of values, with the client firmly at the heart of everything we do.”
