DVLA is developing a modernised online Certificate of Destruction (CoD) and Notification of Destruction (NoD) service for Authorised Treatment Facilities. ATFs are being urged to check and update their contact details now to ensure they receive transition guidance, key milestones and any required actions ahead of the new service rollout.

DVLA is preparing to introduce a modernised online service for Certificates of Destruction (CoD) and Notifications of Destruction (NoD), with the aim of making the process more efficient for Authorised Treatment Facilities. Ahead of the rollout, ATFs are being asked to check that their contact details are accurate so they do not miss important updates, guidance or actions linked to the transition.
The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) is developing a new, modernised Certificate of Destruction (CoD) and Notification of Destruction (NoD) online service to provide an improved, more efficient experience for Authorised Treatment Facilities (ATFs).
As we prepare to introduce this new service, it is vital that the contact details we hold for ATFs are accurate, up to date and regularly monitored. Accurate contact information will enable us to communicate important updates about the new CoD/NoD service, provide transition guidance, and ensure your organisation is ready when the new service becomes available.
To support a smooth transition, we ask all ATFs to review and, where necessary, update the contact details DVLA holds for their organisation.
Why is this important?
Over the coming months, DVLA will provide information and updates about the new CoD/NoD online service, including key milestones, user guidance, and any actions required from ATFs. If the contact details we hold are outdated or incorrect, important communications may not reach the right people within your organisation.
Keeping your contact information up to date will help DVLA to:
- communicate important information about the new CoD/NoD service
- ensure relevant users receive updates, guidance and instructions
- support a smooth and efficient transition to the modernised service
- reduce the risk of missed communications or service disruption
- provide better support to your organisation throughout the transition period
What do you need to do?
Please review the contact details associated with your organisation and ensure that:
- key contacts have valid and current email addresses
- shared or generic email addresses are reviewed and updated where necessary
- contacts who have left the organisation or no longer require involvement are removed
- new or replacement contacts are provided where appropriate
- contact information is regularly monitored to ensure future communications are received promptly
Taking a few minutes to verify your details now will help ensure your organisation receives all relevant information about the upcoming service changes.
How to update your details
If your contact details have changed, or if you would like to notify DVLA of updated contact information for your organisation, tell DVLA about changes to your ATF contact details on GOV.UK.
Thank you for your cooperation. By ensuring that DVLA holds accurate contact information for your organisation, you will help support a successful transition to the new CoD/NoD online service and enable us to keep you informed of important developments as they become available.
