Built from first-hand experience of running a vehicle recycling yard, Wilma is designed to help recyclers work more efficiently and recover more value from every vehicle. By bringing CRM, logistics, inventory, dismantling, parts sales and operational data into one system, it gives yards better control over day-to-day operations and decision-making.

In vehicle recycling, software should do more than simply record activity. It should help businesses make better decisions, work more efficiently, and unlock more value from every vehicle that comes through the gate. That belief sits at the heart of Wilma, a vehicle recycling software platform built specifically for the trade, with a clear focus on practicality, data, and the day-to-day realities of running a modern yard.
Wilma was founded by Adam Pile and Benjamin Johns, but its roots are firmly in the vehicle recycling industry itself. The idea began when Adam was searching for new software for his own yard. After trialling the major systems already available on the market, he found that none of them fully met the needs of a busy, ambitious recycling operation. Rather than settle for a compromise, he began exploring the possibility of building something bespoke.
That search led him to Ben, a software specialist with extensive experience building systems for major organisations including the NHS, Peugeot, Citroën and Lloyds Bank. Bringing together Adam’s hands-on yard knowledge and Ben’s background in CRM, databases and business systems, Wilma was created from the ground up with one clear goal: to build software that genuinely works for vehicle recyclers.
Adam’s understanding of the trade comes from a lifetime in the industry. His father owned GP Metals and Spares, and Adam grew up in the yard environment. From shredding tyres during school holidays and helping with CODs for pocket money, to collecting vehicles and running the phones, he has worked across every part of the business. When Adam and his brother Craig inherited the yard ten years ago, he brought with him a determination to run the business with a more data-led mindset.
That shift proved important. Adam saw that better information led to better decisions: from buying the right vehicles to identifying the right parts to dismantle, stock and sell. Profitability was not just about processing volume; it was about understanding the numbers and using them intelligently. That thinking remains central to Wilma today.

Wilma is designed as a full turnkey software solution for vehicle recyclers. It begins with lead generation and customer engagement, using advanced quoting tools, automated lead imports, SMS and email communication, and CRM functions that help yards manage enquiries and conversions more effectively. From there, the platform supports scheduling, logistics, trip management, driver tracking and geofencing, helping operators stay in control from the first customer contact to vehicle collection.
Once a vehicle arrives on site, Wilma continues through check-in, depollution, inventorying and dismantling. Through PartPro by Wilma, the system helps identify valuable components, create dismantling jobs, manage photography, and streamline listings to eBay and other sales channels. The aim is simple: make it easier for yards to capture value, maintain quality control, and reduce friction across the entire process.
What makes Wilma stand out is not only the breadth of the platform, but its flexibility. Every customer operates on their own cloud environment, with their own codebase. That means Wilma is not a rigid, one-size-fits-all product. It can be adapted to suit individual workflows, with bespoke add-ons and custom development available where needed. In an industry where no two businesses operate in exactly the same way, that adaptability matters.
Security and resilience are equally important. Wilma is cloud-based, with encryption at rest, strong security standards, and point-in-time data recovery, giving customers confidence that their operational data is protected.
Looking ahead, the vehicle recycling sector is only becoming more significant. As sustainability moves further up the agenda, and as insurers, OEMs, and the wider automotive sector place greater emphasis on green parts and material recovery, recyclers have an increasingly important role to play. In our view, the businesses best placed to succeed will be those that embrace a more connected, data-first approach.
Wilma was built with that future in mind: practical enough for the yard floor, powerful enough for modern decision-making, and flexible enough to evolve with the industry. Above all, it was built by people who understand the trade and believe vehicle recyclers deserve software designed around how they really work.
