The next round of the FA Cup will be played on 5th February, and one of the most anticipated games will be when National League North side Kidderminster Harriers take on Premiership side, West Ham United.
The match will have extra meaning for Agri plant salvage specialists Adam Hewitt Ltd, as they are the Harrier’s shirt sponsor whose logo could potentially be seen by millions as the match is screened on the BBC.
Adam Hewitt Ltd has been involved in the Worcestershire-based club for many years and became the side’s shirt sponsor at the beginning of this season.
The game, which is to be shown on the BBC on Saturday, is one of the highlights of the fourth round fixture. The Kidderminster side is still the lowest-ranked team involved and is currently third in the National League North. In contrast, West Ham is now in 5th place in the Premiership, which is a total of 112 places being between the two teams. To reach the fourth round, Kidderminster Harriers beat Championship side Reading.
The Worcestershire club is no stranger to impressive FA Cup runs. In 1993-94 they knocked out Birmingham City and Preston North End on their way to the fifth round and achieved a narrow 1-0 defeat at home to West Ham which only adds extra spice to the fixture. And in 2013-14, they reached the fourth round where they lost 1-0 to Premier League team Sunderland, in front of nearly 5,000 away fans.
Adam Hewitt, CEO of Adam Hewitt Ltd, which specialises in Agricultural salvage, said:
“We are over the moon that our local football team, the ‘’Harriers’’ has managed to get through to the 4th round of the FA Cup, and to play at home against West Ham, a top Premiership team is fantastic. All the staff will be attending the game to cheer them on, and fingers crossed, they will get a good result.”
For years, the FA cup has been full of surprises, and maybe Kidderminster Harriers ‘dismantling’ a Premiership team could be one of them.
