Adam Hewitt Ltd has so far raised an amazing £34,595 for their NHS appeal
Agricultural equipment salvage specialists, Adam Hewitt Ltd, based in Harvington, Worcestershire set up their NHS fundraiser through gofundme just over a month ago on 17th April which we covered in a previous article. Their target was to raise £25,000 but this figure has been exceeded by almost £10,000. The current amount raised stands at a fantastic £34,595.
The idea came to the team at Adam Hewitt Ltd to pick one lot a week from their auction and donate the proceeds to the fundraiser whilst the country was in lockdown. The money made from these lots has helped a great deal and this week’s (19th May) lot proved to be no exception – a 2013 slurry tanker, with an estimated lot price of £2000-£5000 sold for an astounding £6837, all of which has been donated to NHS Charities Together /Association of NHS Charities.
But it is not just the auction that has been making money for their fundraiser, many of their customers have kindly donated and the sales from Hewitt’s NHS T-shirts have also been included. And through the use of social media, thanks must go to the rugby and football players, Team GB dressage riders, International rugby referees, Sky Sports commentators and football managers who have taken time out to make promotional videos which have attracted further support.
Managing Director, Adam Hewitt said:
“I am overwhelmed by the amount of support we have had. We have loads of videos from the Worcester Warriors rugby players [whom we sponsor], which have been made to promote the fundraiser.” He added: “To be honest, it has done better than I thought it would.”
When we asked Adam if he would stop the fundraiser now that their target has been met and exceeded, he said:
“No, not at all, there’s a different goal now. We are trying to put one lot in every week while the lockdown continues. We are aiming to raise £50,000 now but the ultimate goal would be £60,000 if we can get there.”
