CarTakeBack’s June Scrap Car Price Update

Scrap Car Price Update for June 2019Since February this year CarTakeBack has been reporting a rise in scrap car prices month on month. June 2019 has seen a very slight drop, with the average prices reported at just 1% lower than the bumper prices CarTakeBack reported in May. Although there was a slight drop month on month, the average price being paid in June 2019 was 31% higher than the prices in June 2018.

The last time that prices fell was earlier this year in February 2019. Similarly to this month, the prices only fell ever so slightly, by just 2%. The prices then bounced back in March and had been climbing since!

The CarTakeBack Scrap Car Price Index is a monthly index covering the last 13 months. The prices are shown as a percentage, using the first month as the base price. The index gives a great indication of the movement in the value of scrap cars from one month to another.
