The next International Roundtable on Automotive Recycling (IRT) will take place in Wymondham, Norfolk, UK from 22nd to 25th May.
This three day conference in the heart of Norfolk gives an opportunity to meet with auto recyclers from all over the world, discuss issues within the industry, grow and develop your understanding and promote products to a wider audience. Created out of a partnership between membership associations around the world, delegates and guests from as far as the USA, Canada, Australia and Japan will be attending.
The 2019 IRT, co-hosted by the VRA (Vehicle Recyclers Association) and Salvage Wire, will be focussed on Quality Recycled Parts from Legitimate Businesses who have processes and operations that keep their staff, customers and businesses safe.
Guest speakers from across the world have been invited to run sessions or lead discussions on subjects relevant to the industry at present and thinking about the challenges of the future. These include reports of challenges and solutions from represented countries, safety around Hybrid and Electric vehicles, environmental challenges faced due to climate change and much more.
Andy Latham, Managing Director of Salvage Wire said “I am delighted to welcome global guests and delegates to this beautiful part of Norfolk, where we can discuss the issues facing the industry, highlight the opportunities available to us, network, socialise and learn from each other.”
Based just down the road from the home of Lotus Cars, this conference will give each delegate a chance to see how these unique cars are made with a factory tour, a chance to see a working yard in the UK, and plenty of opportunities to network with each other with evening events and a barbecue.
Past events have taken place in Japan and Canada, as well as previous dates in the UK, which have led to agreements such as the Kushiro Declaration. This policy had each member agree to the sharing of information, experiences and resources with each other and those around them in order to increase environmental standards and best practice in the industry.
Confirmed speakers include*:
- Richard Dudley, CEO Motor Traders Association of Australia
- Chris Daglis, Partnered Solutions
- Steve Fletcher, Managing Director, Auto Recyclers of Canada
