Andy Latham at Salvage Wire has some forthcoming dates for WAMITAB accredited electric and hybrid training courses this month. So don’t delay, book your place now.
Safe Handling of Electric and Hybrid Vehicles
The current generation of high voltage batteries range from 100 volts to 400 volts, the next generation of batteries will be going up to 800 volts and I found out recently at The Battery Show, that designers and engineers are already working on the generation after next which will have voltages in excess of 1000 volts. Don’t forget, it only takes 60 volts and 0.5 amps to kill!
So now is the time for owners and managers to invest in themselves and their staff and get them trained to handle these vehicles. There is plenty of training available but none of them have designed training courses specifically for the vehicle recycling industry apart from Salvage Wire who have a accredited, one-day course for vehicle recyclers that gives every attendee the confidence and knowledge to handle one of these vehicles, make them safe and then remove the high voltage components as part of the vehicle dismantling process.
Forthcoming dates for Electric and Hybrid training:
Thursday 7 June – Braintree
Thursday 14 June – Lichfield
Wednesday 20 June – Bridgend
Cost for this one-day, WAMITAB accredited, training course is £125 per delegate – book now by emailing andy@salvagewire.com
